His experience shows in the degree of stain; the result is rather magical - different colours appear in the resonator depending on the angle and degree of light.
Black Ebony fingerboard shows off the Dennis Eastmuir 'runic-design' Mother of Pearl inlays and Abalone motif inlay in the ebony veneer double-cut headstock. Spikes at 7th, 9th and 10th frets.
Contrasing the moody warmth of the woods is the electric blue glow of the double dipped Nickel hardware. The heart of the banjo is Laurie's F34 cast tone ring and one-piece flange producing a driving bluegrass sound with plenty of bass, gutsy midrange and ripping sustain in the highs typical of the best maple banjos. Presently fitted with Presto tailpiece and Huber bridge.
