Excellent condition. Collectors opportunity. Marketed by Fender between 1979 and 1988 they were endorsed for a while by Doug Dillard. These Leo models were made by Moridaira in Matsumoto. They don't make Leos anymore. Banjo chat rooms have several comments to make about how the quality of todays banjos can't compare with the early 80's era. I've seen this model priced as high as $1250 US in this condition. (works out to be about $2,700 AUD to get one to Aus including GST.)
Mahogany neck and resonator, maple ply rim, cast tone ring, chrome hardware. Beautifully balanced both weight-wise and sound-wise. Dark Rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl inlays and spikes at 7th and 9th frets. Mother-of-pearl inlays in headstock, geared tuners. Minimal fretwear. Presently kitted with Moon bridge and Remo frosted head. Very clean instrument, very well looked after.
Snug fit (lots of padding) in classy black lined hard case (made of Samsonite type material). $1990. including hard case. (freight and insurance additional; approx $65 AUD Eastern seaboard, Australia)
